Day 100 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – Never changing, everlasting
(We have finally made it to the end of this series of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus. All I can say is this: “Hallelujah,  what a Savior”)

Ps. 102:24-27 – I say, “O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days, Your years are throughout all generations. 25 “Of old You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 “Even they will perish, but You endure; And all of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27 “But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.

Heb. 1:10-12 –  And, “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of Your hands; 11 They will perish, but You remain; And they all will become old like a garment, 12 And like a mantle You will roll them up; Like a garment they will also be changed. But You are the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.”

Heb. 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Day 95 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – be declared the Son of God

the son of god

Ps. 2:7 – “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Mat. 3:17 – and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

Mat. 8:29 – And they cried out, saying, “What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

Mat. 16:16 – Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Mark 1:11 – and a voice came out of the heavens: “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.”

Luke 1:32, 35 – He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David 35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

Acts 13:33 – that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘You are My Son; today i have begotten You.’

Heb. 1:2-5 – in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3  And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again, “I will be a Father to Him And He shall be a Son to Me”?

Heb. 5:5 –  So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”;

2 Pet. 1:17 – So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”

Important scriptures relating to Salvation, Assurance, Obedience, and Peace

important scripturesSeveral years ago a friend of mine in Africa sent me a list of scriptures relating to the topics above – salvation, assurance, obedience, and peace. Today I am going to share the first four. I post these in an effort to get people focused on the gospel and the relationship we have in Christ. The first is the most famous.

Obedience and peace

John 3: 16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Rom. 3:10 – “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.”

Rom. 3:23 – “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Rom. 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”

Obedience and peace

The scriptures above speak of a relationship that is broken (because of sin), but can be restored through the gift. We go from the wages (well earned, well deserved wages of sin), to the gift (freely given, never earned, not deserved.) That is quite a contrast – earned vs. given, wages vs. gift, sin vs. grace. Oh how we need that grace, and how freely it is given.

Day 85 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – “cut off” at the perfect time

The full title is this “Be “cut off” at a specific time after Jerusalem wall rebuilt before the temple was destroyed” This is about God’s perfect timing for Jesus to come.

at the perfect time

               God’s timing is perfect

Dan. 9:24-26 – Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. 25“So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress. 26“Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

Zech. 9:9 – Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Mat. 21:1-5 – When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me. 3“If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” 4This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: 5“SAY TO THE DAUGHTER OF ZION, ‘BEHOLD YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, GENTLE, AND MOUNTED ON A DONKEY, EVEN ON A COLT, THE FOAL OF A BEAST OF BURDEN.’”

Mat. 24:1-2 – Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. 2And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

Mark 1:15 – and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

John 12:13-15 – took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.” 14Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, 15“FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY’S COLT.”

Day 84 of 100 prophecies fulfilled – interceded for the transgressors

Jesus interceded for the transgressorsIs. 53:12 – Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Luke 23:34 – But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

Day 83 of 100 prophecies fulfilled – Numbered with the transgressors

numbered Numbered with the transgressors

Is. 53:12 – Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Mat. 27:38 – At that time two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.

Mark 15:27-28 –  They *crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left. 28  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with transgressors.”

Luke 22:37 –  For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘And He was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.”

Luke 23:32-33 – Two others also, who were criminals, were being led away to be put to death with Him. 33 When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

Day 82 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – Made into an offering for sin

an offering for sin

                                            open bible

Is. 53:10-11 – But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand. 11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

Acts 10:43 – Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:38-39 – Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

Rom. 3:21-26 –  But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Rom. 4:5-8 – But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, And whose sins have been covered. 8 “Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.”

Eph. 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

1 Pet. 2:21-25 –  For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22 who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 23  and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

1 John 2:2 – and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Jesus was made into an offering for sin. Only the spotless lamb of God could qualify for that.

Day 80 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – Be buried with the rich

Be buried with the rich

                                           Open Bible

Is. 53:9 – His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

Mat. 27:57-60 – When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. 59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.

Day 79 of 100 prophecies – Be accused and afflicted but not open his mouth

Open Bible

Isaiah 53:7 – He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.

Matthew 26:62-63 – The high priest stood up and said to Him, “Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?” 63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Matthew 27:12, 14 –  And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer. 14 – And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed.
