Reflections on this year and on new beginnings for 2019

Today is Dec. 31, 2018, the end of the year of adventures – some good, some bad, some crazy, some unexplainable. But in all of the above, God has been with you and I, and I am thankful for His help, protection, provision, mercy, and grace. I just want to reflect on this year and look forward with you to what the Lord may have in store for us as we journey together.

For one thing, this website started this year! That is hard to believe. We’ve been at this for five months now, and I am so grateful to have this opportunity to share what the Lord lays on my heart and to learn and grow with you. You are part of the success of this website – past, present, and future. We’re in this thing together and we are moving forward.

I want to be transparent here and say that there have been some struggles in body, mind, and spirit. With a lot of encouragement and counsel, we have made it. I have made it, and the journey has been worth it. God has stretched my heart, mind, and body, and has led me to this point. I am basically healthy, with some minor non-lethal problems. They are normal aches and pains and frustrations we all have from time to time. They are not “a sickness unto death.” (Phil. 2:26-27). I know I have a lot of people praying for me and that has carried me through. Continued prayers for me, for this website, and for all the Lord wants to do through each of us this coming year would be appreciated.

Stay with me in the journey into and through 2019. I am thankful for your presence and God’s faithfulness. His mercies are new every morning. (Lam. 3:23)

God be with you in 2019. Let us always finish strong and start fresh as we journey through life together, under God’s powerful hand of provision and grace.

Until next time,
Pastor John
