Hebrews 10:25 discussion question

In Hebrews 10:25, the Word says: “Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and so much as you see the Day approaching.”
(Berean Study Bible)

Many seniors have trouble getting to church, and yet we are to meet together. Others have other obstacles. The question for discussion is this:

What can seniors do to stay in touch with each other and not allow themselves to be isolated? Also, what does “so much as you see the Day approaching” mean to you? All responses welcome!

  1. Yes! Well said and so true…and we need each other to stay bold in our faith. Faith happens and is nurtured in community and this can be a difficulty for older or mobility challenged people.
I watch church on line when I am prevented from being there in person, not the same, by a long shot, but far better than nothing. I am blessed to have internet and although I’m not very proficient, ( like I’m still not sure how to get on our new prayer wall)I can do the basics.
I think older people who have more alone time can use it to have a disciplined prayer life and kind of stand in the gap for the younger, busy, working parents who don’t have the luxury of time to spend with God. He calls His members of the body to do different things and ,from my youth, he has called me to intercession. So that’s a focus for my prayer life. I think everybody’s looks different according to God’s call to them, but I believe we are all called to be a part of the Body of Christ and that no part is more or less important than another.(1Corinthians 12:12)
When we are all working together, we are helping to usher in that great Day that is approaching. Each of us with different jobs, situations and capabilities. We all can give ourselves to the use of God and it is our duty to lift one another up and keep each other encouraged and energized in our faith…to be that community of believers for each other. Sure it looks different at every stage of life, but He will use it all to His Glory!

    1. Click on the link to go to the prayer wall. When you go there, a box will be there that asks for a password. Did you get the password by e-mail?
Since your gift is intercession, I definitely want you to be able to access the page. Let me know how that works out.

  2. Seniors vary on who is able to use technology and social media to connect. If those seniors who cannot use technology or don’t have the technology could connect with a helper who is able to spend time with them to show them how or/and could help them connect with others using that helper’s devices. For instance, my mom enjoys FaceTime whenever we use it with other family members. She is 97.

I believe the Day approaching spoken here could very well be this day happening right now! The Holy Spirit is revealing Himself everywhere in the world. Many are being called through dreams and visions to come to Christ in all walks of faith. I believe it’s important that we boldly talk about this with one another to declare the power of the Holy Spirit upon us. His manifestations are powerful and give us no excuse but to boldly follow through with what Christ Himseld instructed -/ raise the dead, heal the Sick, cure the lepers.
