Day 73 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – Be beaten and spat on
Is. 50:6 – I offered My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spittle.
Mat. 26:67 – Then they spat in His face and struck Him. Others slapped Him
Mat. 27:26-30 – Then he released Barabbas to them; and having flogged Jesus, He delivered Him up that He might be crucified. 27- Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered the whole cohort before Him. 28- And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him. 29- And having twisted together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and having bowed the knees before Him, they mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30- And having spit upon Him, they took the reed and kept striking Him on His head.
Mark 14:65 – Some began to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.
Mark 15:15-19 – 15Wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified. 16The soldiers took Him away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium), and they called together the whole Roman cohort. 17They dressed Him up in purple, and after twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on Him; 18and they began to acclaim Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19They kept beating His head with a reed, and spitting on Him, and kneeling and bowing before Him. 20After they had mocked Him, they took the purple robe off Him and put His own garments on Him. And they led Him out to crucify Him.
Luke 22:63-65 – 63Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him and beating Him, 64and they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, “Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?” 65And they were saying many other things against Him, blaspheming.
John 19:1 – Pilate then took Jesus and scourged Him.
