  • Ps. 78:2 – I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old

Is. 6: 9-10 –  He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.’10 “Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.”

Mat. 13: 34-35 All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable. 35 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open My mouth in parables;
I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Luke 8:10 – All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable. 35 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

  1. I am really enjoying this series! Those parables have a special value in my opinion. Although they have an interpretation, each person takes it in slightly differently. It’s like they have to be unpacked by each reader. Makes Bible studies lively! Add to the parable, the translations of translations( Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English) and there is something new to learn every time we read the same Scripture! That’s why the Bible is the living Word of God speaking to each of us as individuals. Brian read last week from the Voice translation. I found it in Bible gateway and am giving it a try in my devotions. It’s kind of modern narration, I think.
