  1. I love reading the genealogy of Jesus. It reminds me that we are truly His family. Also, again, as with yesterday’s passages, it makes it very clear that God planned everything perfectly, the generations from Abraham to David, David to the exile, the exile to Jesus and I’m sure, even to you and me! We are not just his children, we are part of his plan!
My response to that is to want to listen to Him more, follow His promptings, abandon my own plans and seek to follow His. In this crazy world, it is difficult to always correctly discern and follow His divine will for us but I’m convinced it is the recipe for peace of mind and happiness. No wonder my worry never helps anything.
Two things I get From this. I resolve to ,more actively, seek the will of the Father who planned me and has loved me from the beginning of time. (In a very real sense, when I read the Bible, I am reading the story of my family!)
I’m also going to really pay attention when we get to the Babylonian Exile in DAB and study up a bit. I know it was a significant event….but look where God’s Word puts it in the geniology…right between King David and Jesus!
