  • Day 18 of 100 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus – He came to do the will of God

  • the will of god
    18.) Come to do what God wants Him to do – Ps. 40:7-8; Mat. 26:39;
    Heb. 10:5-9

  • Ps. 40:7-8 – Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

  • Mat. 26:39 – And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Heb. 10:5-9 – 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, But a body You have prepared for Me; 6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure. 7 “Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (In the scroll of the book it is written of Me) To do Your will, O God.’”
8After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

  1. When I read these passages, I remember that, in Jesus, we are under a new covenant with God. The burnt offerings of the Old Testament have been replaced by something much more intimate! Thank You, Jesus, for Your saving love. Because of your obedience and sacrifice, when God looks at me, he sees You. I don’t deserve that, can’t earn it…but I give you my heart and whatever else you can use of me to further Your Kingdom!
