You know the title of this website, Pastor John’s Senior Moments. Now let me tell you a little about myself. My name is John Day, and I live in central Mississippi with my wife, Karen. We have been married for 25 years, but were never blessed with any children, just two cats who act like children sometimes. (So do we!)
Karen and I each have our specialties and our strengths. Hers is in math and logic. My specialty is music and playing with words / writing. I love puns! Just ask my four older sisters. I drove them crazy growing up with all the bad puns. I still do!
I just turned 65 years old, and it was a great birthday, thanks to all the hard work my honey did in setting it up As I get older, though, I am finding lots of senior moments, which are going to work great to provide fodder for the Blogs page! Some of those moments are funny. Some are scary. And some are very discouraging. This struggle, this rubbing of the sand of life against the soul, has produced the pearl of this website. It is time to share what the Lord has laid on my heart and trained me to be able to do. I have sat and soaked and soured for too long in that pew. Its time to be productive, to “bear fruit in old age”, as our key scripture says. That change of attitude and thinking is why this website is here. It is here for all us. I need it as much as anybody else. I need the encouragement and Biblical counsel this site provides. May this site bring you inspiration and encouragement, a soft place to land, and a place to share what is on your heart.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact me by the link provided on the contact page. I am here to serve, and to share the love of Jesus and the Word of God, and to encourage others to do the same. Blessings to all who read these words – Pastor John
