Big room at the Library of Congress

A helpful website for all senior citizens – from the Library of Congress!

Here is a link to a treasure trove of senior resources – medical, legal, employment, retirement, etc. This looks to be a one shop stop for seniors and those with disabilities.
I hope it helps you and your family.

Here is the link:

I am adding a prayer request to the prayer wall this morning. I need your prayer support for wisdom. Details are on the site. Log in with the password I sent you earlier.

Thank you for your prayers for me, the site, each other, and for the Kingdom of God to grow and advance in Jesus’ name.

His righteousness

Ps. 96:1 says “Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing to the Lord, all the earth.”

The song “I Am Acceptable” was written to both encourage people who do not believe in their God-given abilities and talents, and to introduce people to the gospelI Am Acceptable is my life story and the difference that Jesus Christ has made in my life, of how I found grace and confidence in Christ.
Churches are free to use this song, which is copyrighted, for non-commercial use. I hope you find these words encouraging. (Here is the YouTube video:

I Am Acceptable

Vs. 1: The kids at school made fun of me when I was just a lad. They laughed at me and called me names and acted really bad. They said that I was not too cool, that I did not fit in. But then I met King Jesus, and found my worth in Him.”

Chorus: I am acceptable in Christ. I am acceptable in Him. Thou I may not always live it, still the Bible tells me so. I am acceptable in Him.

Vs. 2: As I grew up I found out soon my confidence was gone. I could not find the courage or strength to carry on. While others were successful, it seemed that I had none. Until I met the Savior, and He made me His own.

Chorus: So I am confident in Christ. Yes I am confident in Him. Though I may not always feel it, still I know His hand is sure. So I am confident in Him.

Vs. 3: When I accepted Jesus, my sins were paid in full. Even though I mess up still, His blood still bought my soul. I cannot change my status now. I stand complete in Him. I know I’m bound for Heaven, and am forgiven of my sin.

Chorus: I am forgiven in Christ. Yes, I’m forgiven in Him. Though my heart may say I’m guilty, still Christ’s blood has bought my soul. I am forgiven in Him.

Vs. 4: You’d think that when God sees me, He see a sinner true. He knows that I’m not perfect. Well, hey neither are you. His grace is so amazing. I cannot understand, how God could look through Jesus and see a clean pure man.

Chorus: Still I look clean to God in Christ. Yes I look clean to God in Him. For God looks straight through the blood of Him who died to save my soul, so I look clean to God in Him.

Hands and feet pierced

So who is the hero in your life? Who is your example of faith and endurance? Who do you look to for encouragement, that if they can get through their struggles, you can get through yours? Please “leave a reply” below with their name and their story? How are they an example of faith and encouragement?

(For me, it is Miss Heddi, who is 95 years old and is still active in senior citizen workout. She moves pretty well, and she drives herself there. If she can persevere, so can I!)

Logo for this website - still bearing fruit in old age

Meet Brother Nail. At age 92, he is still producing fruit in old age! How do I know this to be true? Because I heard him sing “Jesus is All the World to Me” at my mother-in-law’s church, Brandon Baptist Church. He could barely walk and had to have help getting up and down the steps, but he got up there and sang, and he sounded good! I hope I sound that good at age 92. I am also remembering that Moses was 80 when he led the children of Israel out of Egypt! God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think! (Eph. 3:20)

The awards show last night, and the one to come!

Last night I watched an awards show. My better half and I were trying to see if our favorite football player was going to get an award we think he deserved. Truthfully, we didn’t know most of the people being honored but had to recognize that they really had done phenomenal work on and off the field. They deserved the awards they received.

What was interesting was the way the audience was cheering for each person that won an award. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the night progressed. They knew these players and how much they deserved these rewards.

But when JESUS comes back, that is going to be a celebration, and many more people will be cheering for the King, and the praise will go on forever. Jesus deserves to be recognized for who He is – King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the bright morning star, the one through Whom all things were created and are held together, and the One with the Name that is above every name. Jesus, our savior and our God. And the honoree for the King of the universe is … Jesus!

Now if that is not awesome enough, here’s the kicker. (No pun intended!) Jesus, the honoree of all times, will recognize what we have done for Him and for the Kingdom. At the end of that awards ceremony, may we hear the concluding remarks from His lips – “Well done, my good and faithful servant. … Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Mat. 25:21 – KJV)

Healing Prayer

Verse 1
I will not cry “great spirit”, or “higher one than I”. I will not use big lofty words, to try to draw You nigh. Instead, I’ll call you “Father”, “Papa, hear my prayer to come. I’m asking, Lord, for healing power, in the name of Your dear Son.”

In Jesus’ name, I pray for healing. In Jesus’ name, I pray for peace.
In Jesus’ name, come heal my body. Come heal it in Jesus’ name.

Verse 2
The doctors don’t know what to do. They cannot find the cause. They poke and prod and test my body. Lord, this all seems odd. I know you made each cell of mine, You know me inside out. I’m leaving all this in Your hands. Lord, help me not to doubt.

In Jesus’ name, I pray for healing. In Jesus’ name, I pray for peace. In Jesus’ name, come heal my body. Come heal it in Jesus’ name.

Verse 3
Oh Lord, my soul is anguished, my mind it is so stressed. Lord, I need Your healing, O Lord I need your rest. Bring healing peace, rest and release, each and every day. Please bring these things, dear Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

In Jesus’ name, I pray for healing. In Jesus’ name, I pray for peace.
In Jesus’ name, come heal my body. Come heal it in Jesus’ name.

(I wrote this song as a prayer for those struggling with sickness, whether short or long term. God bless you all. – Pastor John)
